Looks GREAT Gary! Don't scratch any of that frame paint installing the engine!

Thanks, guys I've measured and my lift will easily lift the cab high enough to clear the bed, so I can roll the frame forward and install the engine/transmission combo as a unit. I have a good shop crane and an equalizer arrangement that allows me to tilt the combo very precisely. That way I can lower it into place gently and precisely. And, I'll cover the studs on the engine mounts with tape to protect the frame - or bolt the mount to the frame and lower the engine into the mounts.

Anyway, I'll be careful! My body/paint guy has said many, many times that he'll be happy to come down the hill and help me install things, like fenders or the engine. Or, when I raise the bed to roll the frame forward. He is really nervous that I'm going to scratch something. So, I'll take him up on it.

Looks amazing Gary! Your body/paint guy does great work!

I can't wait to see that beautiful 335 series set back between those frame rails.

Maybe I can have that 335 Series engine nestled between the frame rails by then. But, at least it is here for the GTG.

I hope the GTG isn't in the winter like the last two times.

It wasn't in the winter the last two times. Just because Alaska and Colorado have early winters doesn't mean that's the case for the rest of us. October was beautiful weather in Okiehoma.

However, unlike last year when our annual fall vacation was in September, this year it is in August - albeit late August. So, the GTG may be in mid to late September.

What was that green thing pulling the trailer? It's too new to be the one you own.

One of those Frenchy trucks. Wondered how long it would take someone to comment about it.

Speaking of the one I own, while he was down John and I looked the '50 over pretty closely and formulated a plan for it. Said plan includes an aftermarket frame complete with suspension and brakes.

When I saw the tow truck, I figured that was why Dad's Truck was without the front sheet metal, so as not to be too close!

What did your wife say when she saw it?
