The truck is really looking good, Scott!
Go look, unless you give up. While color is one difference, there's another. It's in the design.

Just kidding. I like the look of the extra teeth. I also like the look of just the center bar with no teeth.

Bobby
They are never happy with them. I like them with the teeth more than with out them...

Fantastic skills, Scott!! Observing owners fabricate and build is much more interesting than watching owners write checks...

I meant lot's. Not loot's. Sorry I can't edit without turning off all my anti virus *****.
Than I forget it's off, and the kids get on here. Or I get lonely.
Wow, Did I just say that? well ya know what I mean I think.

Not really any progress on this lately......

but I went to a swap meet over the weekend and picked up a few doo-dads, including some mirrors and some old timey lights.
Was considering putting cab marker lights on the roof, but not real keen on drilling holes in the cab......waddaya think?

What's a big truck without roof mounted marker lights?? Are you going to drill the doors for the mirrors? You might as well drill the roof.

I'm hoping to use the factory hinge brackets for the mirrors....will make some custom arms, but they may still need a brace.

As for the cab lights, I want at least 3.....so far I only have 2. Gotta set them up there and see how they look...

Scott, I have been lurking and admiring your work on this COE, you have elevated great craftsmanship to the level of art - well done! As for the marker lights, I wouldn't be afraid of drilling the roof for these - seems almost strange to see a big truck without marker lights. I would just suggest making sure you get lights of a similar vintage to the truck. I have been collecting marker lights for my F3, and while five lights is the norm for modern trucks, our cabs are too narrow - three lights seems to be right, and also what most vintage photographs show. What make are the marker lights that you have? I have gathered some extras, all with good chrome and glass lenses - I'd be happy to donate to your project if I have a match. PM or post here, if I have what you need I'm happy to ship them out! Think how great your truck will look when those marker lights are glowing!

Correct! 51 teeth were spot welded. 52 were bolted.

I gotta quite watching this build!!!! Every time I see a cabover on CL I start thinking, what if I got that......and an old airstream trailer.....and mix well, I could make one heck of a motorhome. I'll keep watching, just need to turn off my brain.

I really enjoy following along on your build.....a true fabricator!!!

Scott,

Whats a cabover without cowboy lights? I say go for it.

Any idea what the dome light is out of? I have a 51/52 dome light in my 49 and I mistakenly offered to give it to my dad for his 52 if I could find something cool to replace it. I want something with a glass lens and the art deco styling

Swap meet next weekend. I'll try to remember to look for something

Bobby
