More welding........I tackled the right side of the dash. Still needs more grinding, then finish bodywork. Maybe tomorrow.....
Been brainstorming on the steering column, got some interesting ideas there too. I need to get the engine installed so I can see how much foot room I will have for pedals, etc.

Couple pics...

I've got the dash almost ready for primer......pics soon!

I got kinda sidetracked, the weather turned cold (9 degrees this AM) so I thought I had better get the donor truck in the shop while I could still start it and pull the engine. Most people think I'm nuts for putting a six in there......but I love 'em.
Added a 4 barrel and split exhaust for fun.......

Anyhow, I got the engine/trans out, but need to swap on a rear sump pan and replace all the gaskets and clean it up....

Nice progress!!

I'm with you on the 6. They are good engines, plus its unique. It will look right at home in that COE

Good job

I really enjoy builds like yours since you're not afraid to step out of the box. That dash is looking great.

I really like the cab overs and every time I see one for sale I have visions of one made into a motorhome. I don't think I've got enough years or energy left to take on a project like that, so I'll be cheering in background for your completed project.

OK, finally got the dash pretty much done.......i painted it white rattle can, which is what the color of the interior will be. Not perfect, but nothing about this truck will be. I've also got the motor out of the donor truck and over the weekend installed the rear sump oil pan, put new gaskets on all of the tin, new rear main seal and removed a twisted off manifold bolt.
Now I need to get the trans back on it and hang it in the frame to see about mounts........

Great work! Looks like it belongs in there. Can't wait to see all the gauges mounted up and installed.

Keep up the great work.

Wow the dash looks great... How much further does it stick out compared to the stock one? Love following your build...

Beautiful job there. You are highly skilled, but with the added gift of a great imagination. The inline six has always been a great truck engine imho......

All your work has been very sensitive to the aesthetics of the original body design. Beautiful job, both in design and workmanship. Is this "darksiding", or something else? I'm curious to see how you will handle the rest of the interior.
