Trade Advise?
Ive been looking for a bigger truck prefer '97 and older and I found this one a guy wants to trade me. Ill post what all he wrote and let you all tell me what you think. "This truck is a one owner. Originally bought new by my dad back in 1992. The truck has a lot of modifications. To start it has a 6" Skyjacker Lift Kit on it. The tires are Maxxis Creepy Crawlers and are 37x14.50x16 with about 70% tread life. I have done a solid axle swap on the truck out of a 1-ton to eliminate the factory independent front suspension. This also added an additional 1.5" of lift to the front. The truck has brand new brakes front and rear. I've replaced the factory automatic locking hubs with manual locking hubs. The truck has a custom paint job with Candy Apple Red stripes with a black ghost flame in it. The front headlights have been replaced with clear units along with clear front corners replacing the factory amber corners. The interior is custom as well and has been painted to match the body (interior body panels white, door panels black with white and candy red accents, dash black with white and candy red accents). I have also added leather bucket seats out of a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer (leather has been stained black...originally was tan leather---seats look OK but I would eventually get re-upholstered with new black leather). I've added a Custom Stereo System (Sony X-plod CD Head Unit, new Pioneer Component Speakers, Custom Sealed Sub Box painted to match interior with two 12" Sony X-plod subs, and a Sony X-plod 1600 watt amp...the sub box replaced the rear seat....but I do still have the factory rear seat if it would be needed). The truck has 5% tint all the way around, a new driver side window motor, a new windshield wiper motor, a new slave cylinder, and two brand new Interstate Batteries.....I think that's it...but I may be missing something. The truck has just over 181000 miles on it but the motor has only 55000 on it. This is a show truck and would make someone a great rig!!!! I'm asking $11,000" He is wanting $1k and my 2001 F150 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 with 192k miles on a 5.4. Is it worth it? How well does a idi 7.3 pull? Ill probably throw on a flatbed and bale spear and use it to haul cattle, cut wood, and general farm stuff. What would you do?

The 7.3 pulls HARD. The lift about makes the truck useless for farm stuff. You'll get tired of climbing in and out of that truck REAL fast working on a farm. Honestly, it would be your truck to do with what you like, but if it's as nice as it sounds, I'd feel bad about using a truck like that as a farm truck. Besides, YOU already have a nice truck. Think about it this way, Why not skip the middle man and use YOUR truck as a farm truck? It would cost you over $1,000 less to keep your truck and use it than it would to get this other truck.
Another thing, DO NOT TOW WITH A LIFTED TRUCK. especially one that big. Yes, it can be done, yes people do it every day. I towed my drag car with my old lifted truck ONE time. The next week I went out and bought a 1 ton crew cab dually. That extra set of wheels and tires back there do MUCH more than you realize to keep a heavy load stable. I don't know where you live, but around here, there are just too many trucks outfitted like you want to bother with trading a new truck PLUS cash for a really nice older truck that you're going to cut up to make a usable farm truck out of.
I'd say keep looking. There's a truck out there that's more suited to your needs than this one.

A lifted truck doesn't have this. I would look for a dually 4x4 with a flat bed already on it. Around here, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one.
