2wd C6 to 4wd C6

Is it as simple as changing tail shafts on a (small block pattern) 2wd C6 to convert it to a 4wd C6? Sorry for so many newbie questions but im kinda stuck and need info so I can get my truck back up and running! Thanks to all for the help!

Not 100% sure for the auto trannies, but I know for the standard trannys, so convert from 2wd to 4x4, the entire tranny has to be tooken apart, as the main shafts inside aren't the same length.

In a way it is as simple as changing the tailshafts and bolting on the transfer case adapter. However as IDI says you need to completely dissassemble the trans to do it.

Just find a 4x4 C6... there not that rare. As long as you find one from the same engine family as yours.

300-6, 302 and 351 is the small block family.

400, 429 and 460 is the big block family.

And Diesel bell housing bolt patern is unique.
