Component Speakers in Front Doors...
So, I took the entire interior out of the Excursion we just bought to clean up and double check the stereo install and to give the interior and carpet a good cleaning. The rear door speakers had been replaced but not the fronts so i bought a set of 6.5" Polk components to go in there today. I couldnt find any good 5x7's or 6x8's locally and do not want to reinstall then remove the interior again as i plan on installing an amp,sub and new wiring for the fronts I put in. Im gonna try to mount the tweeters inside the door panel so I dont have to cut anything. If that doesnt work out Im curious to where you guys have located the tweeters in the door panel or the small trim above it. Any pics are appreciated. Thx

X2 - I would like to see pics.
When I installed my components I could not decide where to mount while doing the install. I ended up leaving some extra wire on the tweets and used double sided tape to mount them in several different locations. They seemed to sound the best to me mounted on the dash aimed up into the glass. I ended up fishing the wire up to the corners of the dash and they are still just double back taped to the dash. I do not like the fact that they are in plain sight but could not figure out a good way to mount to the dash and hide them.
Another option I was thinking about is to buy the 08 inside mirror trim as it is set up with a tweeter and would then look factory. Here is a thread showing a guy mounting using these in a 04 superduty. 2007 Ford F-350 crew cab build - Page 3 - DIYMA.com - Scientific Car Audio - Truth in Sound Quality
I think they can be ordered without the speaker for around $18.
