How to tell what it is?

I just want to be sure that the motor in my 55 F-100 is a 292 like the previous owner told me it was. Is there any way to find this out and the year of it? Thanks for any information.

I agree looking up skirts can get you in trouble. However thanks again for the y-block link I have found some usefull infomation about the 292 I have and love the sound of it. And look forward to running it. So far the skirts I hang around like it!!!
