'77 F600, any parts worth saving before crushed?

I'm sending a '77 F600 to the scrappers.

I'm not selling anything in this thread, I'm just wondering if there is anything you guys think I should save that might help someone else out later or be valuable.

If the wiring harness is different from the small trucks for instance, I might save it if someone wants it.

I already pulled the instrument cluster, and the Clark 282 (anyone know what I should ask for this on Craigslist?), the two speed rear is gone, and I pulled the motor.

Should I keep the running boards? Ones real straight, the other is pretty straight (warped, but not damaged)

Those trucks are dime a dozen.

Its hard to sell the parts. But, if you've got the time, and space to store them it will end up paying better to sell the parts as parts, and not scrap steel.

Not too many people trying to fix up their 70's ford 600..

That's my opinion.

I wasn't looking to get rich, but I can see someone buying this or that to if they have a perfectly good working dump/flatbed/etc that has a wire burn up or something.

I just hate to see stuff I know they don't reproduce head to the scrap heap :/

On something like that, even wiring harnesses can be made up. No need to keep it "original" that's for sure

If it has the push-button door handles you might pull the doors, some guys like to put them on the pickups. I've heard the hood and cab work on the pickups too.

I would take the whole dash off your hands, but I'm wrapped up in a motor re-build and other stuff, so funds are a bit tied up at the moment... Rumor has it they swap right into the 73-79 pickups. And I think it would look nice in my truck!

Just my $0.02.

The dash is the same, the instrument cluster is the only thing I can see thats different, and I pulled it. I think it'd look great with these put in it-

I need another fender, also, is your grill mint? those are hard to find. I would pull the front clip if it is decent and save for someone wanting to do the swap on a smaller truck. Somebody just let me know that they want to do the swap on this site actually. definitely save the doors and mirrors. Those push button handles are the cats meow on a lifted pick-up, and the mirrors are sweet too.

What do you mean bush button doors? I have the doors, but the interior panels and anything that was on them has been stolen.

The front end was toast. None of the metal save for the running boards was any good.... I still have the running boards too, maybe we can hang them on the '68 F350...

Your F600 will have the push button door handles (if the theives didn't pull those too...), but the pickups from the same era (the 73-79 series) have lift up door handles.

Here's what the push button ones look like (same style as your 68) http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000024d~Z5Z5Z5UATVD~ P60.00~~~~S3DP0SSC0J17421114649b~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000 024D

And here's the later ones used on pickups: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000024d~Z5Z5Z5UAVCB~ P40.00~~~~S3DP0SSC0J17421114649b~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000 024D

Oh, I just assumed you were talking about interior handles...

My '68 has push button doors, and I think my '81/'85s do to, so it never occurred to me that 73-79s would be different... weird, and understandable... I'll do the push button swap if I get one, I think pulling "up" would be hard on a lifted high-boy....

You might save the wheels if they are the tubeless 22.5s having the 6 x 8.75" pattern. Stu
