I was confused after reading this thread about which blades to buy for my truck until I got to #30 where I found that all replacement blades are worthless- just use Rain-X. LOL

I finally found what i was lookin for. They had one left at my local Autozone and they ordered three more sets for me for pickup tomorrow. They are the Anco brand refills.

FYI, I use the U-16R refills. They are an inch longer than stock. When the wipers are vertical on the windshield you can't add length to the top, but the bottom of the wiper area takes the extra inch just fine. That gives me more clear area when the wipers are in use.

The stock length are Anco brand, part number U-15R, made by Federal Mogul. Its about $7 for a pack of two refills.

I agree that many universal refills are garbage. I bought NPD's F-17593-3 which are now in a landfill.

Just went outside to check my '68 F-100 and I have Trico wipers as well. They look like many others have posted and they say Made In USA so they are at least old.

The widest part of the blade is rougly 0.42" wide. The four "teeth" on the wiper that go into the groove come in roughly 1/16" in each side. I'm going to start my adventure given the suggestions others have posted since I have a new windshield that I can see through now.

Trico's website suggests the 33-150 wiper *blade* (whole blade) for the '68 F-100. Amazon has the
43-150 43-150
wiper blade *refills* for $5. I'm going to get them and let you guys know.

Never had any luck out of the wiper refils. I use the clip on kind now and usually get bosch or rain-x. I still have my original wiper frames incase I do ever find good refills.

Surprisingly autozone had wiper blades for my truck. '76 F100. Strange that you guys can't find them in aftermarket brand at y'alls stores.

My local AZ had 15" refills in stock for my dent and 16" for another classic. 2'nd replacement for the dent. The previous ones were ~ 3 years old and getting tired. Anco brand. They keep them behind the counter. They seem to work fine. I believe PN's were posted above.

What you want is Trico 15 inch wiper blades Trico part number 43-150. I got some at CARQUEST Auto Parts and their part number for the exact same thing, Trico 15 inch, is CWP 454-150. They are cheap and a perfect fit.

I read this thread a while back and next day, picked up new wiper arms for the '96 with the hook style ends. They fit the spindles, I just need to take a few minutes and shorten them as described in the thread and then fit new style 16 or 17" blades .... like Trico Neoforms maybe. When I do get around to shortening the new hook style arms, I'm gonna shorten them so 17" blades will just clear the top of the windshield.

I've got some True Fits on mine now with bayonette mounting, looks cobbled to me.

Simply stated, the better engineered a wiper blade is, the better it cleans and the more durable it is all weather conditions.
