2001 F150 5.4 4x4 Ignition Issues

Last night my truck was running fine. I turned it off and left the headlights on for about ten minutes. Turned lights off then tried to start truck. It turned over but would not start. Pulled battery cable to reset. Still would not start. Started swapping PCM relay with common relays. No luck... Unplugged battery all night. Next day the truck started. Idled rough at first then ran just fine until I got home (7miles). Turned off and now doing same thing. I am researching online and have used Ford forums for years. Thanks to everyone in the past. Can anyone relate to my issue?

Could be the starting of a fuel, possible fuel pump issue, is it priming, is that system good?

I can hear the fuel pump very well. Sounds strong and continuous. The battery is new a few weeks ago. If the fuel pressure was low would it at least spit sputter a little.

Checked into the fuel system. The pressure did not register at first. Replaced fuel filter. The old one was practically clogged. Truck will not start. Turning key off and on it reads 37psi at the rail. I am thinking pump. Looks easy to swap. What should pressure be? Is there a way to reset after system read low pressure?

37 psi is about normal.
Ever think about checking for codes?

Have you observed the THEFT lamp when trying to start the engine? PATS failure will manifest exactly the same as no fuel pressure since the injectors are disabled.

Few things I have done. I did check theft light while trying to start truck. I put my scanner on it no codes. I tried to lightly press gas pedal and would not start. I pushed pedal to floor and truck started, ran fine. Turned off and would not start back. Pushed pedal to floor, again it started. Tried that several times, and it started. Next day truck would not start at all. Disconnected battery, let sit for about 3 hours. Reconnected battery and truck started without touching gas pedal. Turned off and would not start at all. Cleaned IAC valve, cleaned MAf, new filter, and connections, using a non residue cleaner. Changed fuel filter. Checked ohms on IAC and MAF. Cant remember what they were but look online and was in range. Took relays out and checked with meter for continuity. All were good. I have not checked fule pressure with truck runninng, only during prime. Had to turn key six times to reach 37 psi. It was holding for 4 min check. CEL is on now, but no codes. Sorry for long post. Just wanted to be thorough.
