I thought I'd intro myself in this subforum as well. I am a proud new owner of a 1995 150 Utility Truck. Yah, the ones with the cabinets on the side. I love it and my kids love it!! Nothing like bouncing around in an old truck as a kid right?

Anyway, I understand the forum rules for WTB so here's a question. I'm looking for a place that sells used tires. I tried Santa Ana, Buena Park, Westminster but nobody seems to have 235/75/15 sizes.

So I'll try my luck in this subforum if anyone knows a place. I'm will go go as far as Riverside (I'm in Irvine). I would LOVE LOVE to be able to get 265/70/15's on them. But yah, funds limited and used 265's are better than the old worn out ones I have.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome Mr. Butt.

We've got a used tire shop here in Whitter. Here is the contact info:
Isla's Tires, Whittier CA 90605

My son has bought tires there, but I don't really know anything about them. The place is always busy when I drive by.

For budget tires, you might also consider retreads, from a place like Treadwright.com. https://www.treadwright.com/

Thank you for the links!! Whittier isn't too far. I'll call them today for sizes. Thank you thank you. I was gonna go get 235's in Santa Ana but someone told me not to get them cause they will be not the correct load rating. Even though I'm not loading the truck with anything (just bicycles, I'm a cyclist), but at least get a decent load tire. Thats when someone suggested to go with used 265s. It'll look at little better as well, not so saggy looking

I called Isla and they have a pretty good deal on 235's. Forgot to ask the load rating. But I guess it'll be okay in the interim. It'll be better than the bald ones I got now!

You want to ask for LT tires, and not P tires.

I called and they are P rating. This is going on a utility truck with no load. Just me and bikes, if any 3 bikes. And some coolers. Will a P rating be okay? NOt sure how heavy those cabinets add to the truck. But I"m thinking it would be fine until I get decent tires in the future.

You will need to know how much the truck weighs on each axle. Each tire will have a maximum load rating at the maximum air pressure. You do not want to exceed the maximum on any tire. Beyond that it is a matter of handling and resistance to road hazards. P tires are softer for a good ride. You can live with them as long as you don't over load them. I would never overload a tire rating. That's playing with fire.

Welcome to FTE

Look on the left door face below the latch or on the B pillar below the striker plate for the Certification Label.

It will have the production date, VIN, myriad other codes and front/rear/overall gross vehicle weight ratings. Some years have the original tire size listed.

There is (was, might be missing) another much smaller label that lists the required tires and their recommended air pressure.

All apply to an F150 Cab & Chassis, as the Utility bed was either installed by the selling dealer, or by the original purchaser after the sale.
