Hey join the gain! Must be a Michigan thing. I have a guy down by me that is fairly cheap but doesn't have the warranty of the BTS or JW, his warranty is 12 month/12k miles. If you read my "weird" post, you can see what he is upgrading my trans too.

Sorry to hear that man. It was a tough decision for me when mine went...especially since the factory trans lasted 230k. I decided that it wasn't worth the risk. I pull my 5th wheel all over the place with my family. I would say if it is even a remote option...call Brian.

Sorry to hear this Pat. Remember the crap Frank went through before he got a BTS? I think a Christmas present from BTS would be in order here.

Yep, a BTS warrenty would have had ya covered.

Sorry about your problems.

A 6.0 cooler may have saved it.

Sound like mine. Cost me $2,915 for rebuilt transmission and driveshafts.

When can you test mine to see if it correct.

I do not have the 6.0 cooler, but I do have 2 trans coolers in there.. that should not be my issue, plus I have the trans temp gage.. never got above 180.

That sucks to say the least Pat. Not a good time of year to have that happen either.

Sorry to hear that you are having trans problems.

I can give you the number of the shop I used for my trans rebuild.

He is in Flatrock.

I remember....
Sorry to hear this Pat, I completely understand your frustration.
My $2500 rebuild didn't last 100 miles, the second one no better, the third one got me to BTS. Yes its alot of money, but With a lifetime warrenty, and knowing that you will probably never have to use that warrenty, your not throwing any money away. Its an insurance policy!
You cant put a price on peace of mind.
I wish you well.

Do those two coolers have too much restriction? Is that limiting lube flow to the rear of the trans?

fellow michigan brothers! i dont care what the shop tells you dont bother with anyone except bts or jw if youre going to keep the truck for the long haul! your trans is a vital part of the truck and is more important than modding the engine! get the bts or jw the first time and be done with it! screw the "hd" ford trans and get the trans that will last as long you can live....in the event anything goes wrong its covered under warranty atleast by bts so you wont have any unexpected massive trans bills coming your way. i know you guys say "well i didnt have enough to get the bts so i got this local yocal to build it". save your allowance and dont waste your money! im not dissing the OP at all just my advice on trans situations. dont build the engine or mod crap until you get the money saved up for the trans! everyone knows that in the whole truck its the weakest link!!!!! hope all goes well for you JUST ANOTHER TRUCK and if it makes you feel any better the allison in the chevy aint worth a crap either! so build your 4r100 in arkansas and be done with it!!! cheers......

Pressure gauge on test port on driver side of transmission. No idea on psi but think 100 psi is min
