EcoBoost at the track

It's not an F150, but it's an EcoBoost

Took the new MKT to the track last Friday evening. It's bone stock without a single modification whatsoever. Weight should be right at 5000lbs without driver.

The first pass:
2.245
6.125
9.385@75.90
12.165
14.519@95.84
DA:-168 ft

2nd pass:
2.198
6.079
9.345@75.84
12.128
14.481@95.95
DA:-31 ft

3rd pass(best pass):
2.185
6.045
9.297@76.26
12.072
14.418@96.27
DA:-93 ft

4th pass:
2.260
6.144
9.404@76.09
12.185
14.537@96.01
DA:+360 ft

5th pass:
2.211
6.106
9.373@75.76
12.157
14.513@95.76
DA:+63 ft

6th pass:
2.223
6.120
9.392@75.77
12.182
14.538@95.80
DA:-78 ft

DA was all over the place since the temp was going up and down by a few degrees, and BP was fluctuating. It spun the tires on the last pass a bit and the traction control kicked in enough that I felt it lay over right off launch. The 1st 4 passes were back to back to back. The 5th pass was after about a 30 minute cooldown while I had some concession stand dinner, and the last pass was after a 15-20 minute cooldown sitting in the lanes.I've gotta play with the car some more and find out the sweet spot for launch RPM. Too high, and it builds power too quick and spins the front tires causing driveline protection to kick in and dump off boost to prevent damage to the AWD coupling.

There was an EcoBoost F150 out there making some passes, and it was running sub 15 second passes pretty consistently. I'm amazed by how well these little 214 inch turbocharged wonders of engineering perform.

Or in something like an AWD Escape or AWD Fusion now. It's based on the Duratec V6, so it should literally drop right in place, with a bit of fabrication.

I'm too lazy to look it up...what does the MKT translate into the Ford lineup?
