Brakes
I know that brakes have been brought up in a lot of posts but I could not find an answer to my question.
I have a 98 F150 Super Cab, 4x4, 4.6 L, auto that suffers from the weak feeling brakes. In searching the forum I have found a lot of reference to changing the front brake lines to braided stainless. Some think this helps others say it doesn't.
My question is has anyone tried putting in a larger brake booster? A couple of years ago I changed from the F150 to the F350 booster and master cylinder on my 76 F150 and it helped tremendously. That thing will stop on a dime. I have been looking at the boosters on the Cardone website. Part # 54-74225 is what comes on the 98 F150. Part # 54-74408 is what comes on the 99 F250 light duty. This is also the booster that is on 2000-03 F150. Looks to be a dual diaphragm and significantly bigger than stock. Has anyone tried changing to the bigger booster and what were the results?

Seems like it should help a bit. I used to change masters quite a bit, just to gain more piston size.
My '94 just had RABS, and I always could get a good firm brake pedal. My '99 is the same basic truck, except 4wABS. It has never had a good feel to the brakes.
My '05 Super Duty is the same way, 4w ABS, and the same crappy pedal. They all stop ok, but never feel quite right.
I'm pretty sure the addition of ABS on the fronts is part of the problem. It's the only thing that changed.
