Need rotors for my 78 F250 w/D60, serial number questions?
I'm trying to buy front rotors for my 1978 F250 Snofighter with a Dana 60 front axle, and I don't know which rotors I need. The parts catalog lists two different rotors....one for trucks with serial numbers before Y20001, and one for trucks with serial numbers after Y20001.
My question is how do I determine what serial number I have? My VIN doesn't even have a Y in it, and there are only 4 numbers at the end of it (not 5). Anyone have any idea how to figure this out?

Your VIN is AFTER Y20001. That was the mid-77 break that ended the "highboy" F250.
Through '77 the VIN serial number was the last six digits, one letter and five numbers. In '78 Ford changed it to two letters and four numbers.
The '77 model year had two different series O00,001-O99,999 and X80,001-Z25,000. 78 model year serial numbers went from AE0,001-CK9,999.
