The Wyoming "Merry December" Thread

Well, the cooling system, or the temperature sensor in the cab is screwed up. It's taking it way too long to get warm in the morning, and on the way in, on the highway, the heat will just go cold. It doesn't get that warm, either, and it will go warm/cold/warm until I get back into town. When I slow down, it gets warm and stays that way.
Plus, it was due for a radiator flush, so get that done also. I'm wondering if I don't have a bad thermostat.

The truck you now have is a very nice truck...you would have to spend upwards of $20,000 or more to find a reasonably decent truck..we live in a "throw-away" society, so poeple are not as concerned about the care of their vehicles as they used to be. Say you spend the 4 to 6 grand..you would still have a truck that you know both inside and out, one that you know is in excellent shape..not so with a different one. Now, I know what you are saying about payments and trading down and all..it is a hard choice to make!

Well, after careful thought, and a little wise input from some of the guys on here (you included!), the wife and I have decide that we're going to go ahead and get her fixed. But, unless something happens with Ford (I'm working on that) I'll be taking it to a local diesel shop that is highly recommended, use aftermarket parts that are much better than the OEM's, and replace the head bolts with studs.
