Let me introduce my "New" Winery truck
Greetings all!
I am a Southern California boy from birth and have been driving Fords all of my adult life. My first car was a Ford pickup and am happy to still be driving one. I found the forums here after I picked up a new project, 1951 Ford F4.
She's rough but has a lot of potential.
I have plans to get her all fixed up and put her back to work for my winery, hauling grapes and barrels.
I'm on quite a budget as most of my money goes into building the winery so if anyone has parts that they think i might need, i would be willing to work out a full or partial trade for premium Paso Robles wines. Let me know!
I look forward to being a part of the forums here and i wanted to say thanks to you all for being so welcoming
You guys are cool

So many questions, and none of them are straight answers... sorry...
My personal "winery" is really some wine that I am making at someone else's facility. I am the Assistant Winemaker for a small family operation here in town and work part time with three other winemakers. My wine is just something i'm starting on the side. I have lots of great connections with incredible growers and was offered some great fruit at a smoking deal. So i went with it.
My wines will be bottled and available in the spring. The San Diego area (which is home by the way, Escondido to be exact) will be one of my first target markets. I'll keep you all posted as my truck will probably figure prominently into the wine label
And as far as the 2010 vintage (my first) The wines were East side, from mature vines but not something that i would call "Old Vine"
I invite you all to come to Paso and let me know that you are coming, I'll go wine tasting with you and we'll go to a couple of great tiny little places that people don't normally find

Realized that I hadn't answered all the questions.
The name is top secret for now... will be revealed shortly.
Right now i am only producing a red blended table wine which is mainly Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel, but i am incredibly happy with it.
Have plans next year to make a Malbec, a Muscadet style white, and possibly a dry Portuguese blend.

Ha
Way to be.
You answered great.
I spend a fair amount of time up there as grape juice is a passion for myself and the wife.
Always looking for something new.
Good luck with your endeavor.
Will definitely drop by in the future.
Again, welcome to FTE you should find plenty of help here with your truck.

Let me ask here, as ya'll in the California section are more likely to have a useful answer for me than most of the guys in the classics forum. Any tips on good scrapyards to find old parts at? My ideal find would be a 337 flathead v8 out of a 51-52 F8 to put into my F4 and i need assorted trim pieces etc?

Thats gonna be a tough one.
I don't think scrapyards would keep anything that old and worth money to someone.
There are guys that will answer you back that may have leads for you.
They are out there but someone owns it so it'll be a barter or buy deal.
Try the appropriate motor forums and off course the correct year forum for your truck.
There are trucks that come up for sale that you can use as parts donors. Again though it'll take some digging.
I run up and down the state a bit so I'll keep it in the back of my very shallow mind.
Good hunting.
