Camshaft ID

I just tore apart my 460 and I can't find the ID of my Cam. It just has BB at the bottom and 16 stamped a couple lobes up from the bottom. Any ideas?

The 16 is probably a factory marking for the motor it would fit in before grinding. I'd like to say BB means big block but you never know. Are you thinking it might be a aftermarket cam ? The only way to know anything about it now is to put it, degree it in and check it all over.

If the cam is stock, here are the specs. Lobe lift, intake=0.2530 in. exhaust=0.2780 in. Hope this helps. The rocker ratio should be 1.73 to 1.

OK, the specs. for the 429 cam are different than the 460. I'm not sure about the "ThunderJet", I could only find one listing for the 429. Anyway, here they are intake=.2526, exhaust=.265
OK, time for more coffee. They are the same. Don't get old.
