1949 F-1 Radio Mounting Dimensions
Well I'm back from my trip and want to start working on installing my radio in my truck... Well I doesn't have the hole radio... but I have just the front section, no tubes... I do not have the cage either... what I need to know is how far from the face of the radio to the mounting brackets suppost to be? Below is a few pic of the Mercury radio I bought from ebay

I've saved those drawings myself, but my problem is I do not have the back half of the radio (not even the housing), so I can't measure from the rear. Does anyone know if the cage from a 51/52 truck radio have the same outside dimensions? I have a housing for one of them. Can someone check the mounting from the front where the nose plate is mounted to.

Moe,
I no longer have the radio installed in the truck. Best thing to do is guestimate using the picture posted. I think, but not sure, the case from the later radio should work, or at least made to work.
Look at it this way, a radio in a '48-50 truck is so rare that if you don't get it exactly where it is suppose to be no one will ever be able to tell. Get it close.

dibs, DIBS!
Ok seriously - Moe was first in (here and another thread), and I'd be happy to let him have first shot, but he and I are both looking for the same thing a placeholder for the dash instead of the delete panel or hole.
Send me a PM with asking price, I'd be happy to let you measure, measure myself, or even let Moe receive 1st and then forward on or swap out / give me whichever is the leftover.

Moe, I put in the dual 12v electric wiper - I had to remove the support brackets... so for my purpose, it is 100% imagination and fab work to support a radio face. I really don't need the brackets or the back half, etc - just some steel to bite into and run new supports from. After you and Chuck settle up, let me know what you have leftover if you will please.
