Ford 292 Questions

not much room around spark plugs
for socket
anybody heard of
a bigger flat spot being
machined into the head
around each plug?
does the engine mount come
off without pulling dampener?

I've not yet had an issue with removing the plugs. There's always been plenty of room for a socket.
The damper does have to come off to remove the motor mount bracket.

I have a new set of Mummert Rams Horn manifolds. 3 or 4 of the spark plugs would bind up the socket due to interference with the socket and RH. Had to gradually grind down the outside of the socket. Luckily the engine was on a test stand with easy access. My OE Rams Horns dont have any interference. Now that I think about it, I noticed one set of heads where some of the sparkplug bores actually interferred slightly with the socket. I dont remember which heads they were/are.

I actualy had this problom when using a craftsman socket. I went and bought an SK spark plug socket and it solved the issue. It was is if the socket walls were to thick on the craftsman.
