Anybody know why diesel prices are rising and gas prices are falling? I don't know about the rest of the country but here in Omaha, NE diesel has risen from 3.79 to 4.04 in the last couple of weeks and gas has fallen from 3.30 down to 3.05. What gives?
Consider yourself lucky. Its just under $4/ gallon here in Iowa. I was in eastern OK this weekend and it was $3.59 a couple places... almost makes me want to move down there.
Crude oil is at a all time high for the past 3 years, running around $100 a barrel and gas is falling! The oil companies claim that diesel exports are the cause of the increase. Is it that these American co.'s would rather sell to foreigners and make us 2nd in line?
I filled up for $3.59 at Walmart the other day here in Texas. I have been asking the same question and from what I was told, diesel $$ does this every year because of the cold. I guess many homes use diesel to heat them and it's the demand. It's nice to see gas get cheaper, but gas always gets cheaper on a big election season. Most people don't get that this county runs on diesel. As long as diesel is high, everything is high.
