weird noise

so i got my 2003 f-150 4.6l truck stuck in a puddle up to just under my head lights. it was at an angle so only about the front half was actually submerged. now it makes a loud almost whiny air sound. im assuming its because i sucked up sandy water through my cats because it was spitting the water out the tailpipe. if anybody has any idea if im on the right track and if so recomend replacement parts. id like to upgrade the parts if possible for a better flow as it is all stock. also i realize this is dumb but its 2 wheel drive and i know i shouldnt have been in a puddle that big but theres a story and its all pretty funny.

I think since your exhaust should be a sealed system water had to come in through a leak ,broken exhaust studs , egr port, flange bolts, weak exhaust clamps on y pipe, alot can be your issue, sand , mud in the ac pully, not sure how far up the water level was

I think first you have to figure where it the noise is coming from, pull off the serp belt and start for only couple minutes see if noise is still there

if noise is gone its in your pully system
if noise is still there try to listen where its coming from
