More mass air conversion decisions
I currently have a 92 f150 4x4 with the 5.0 and a manual tranny that i will be doing a mass air conversion to when I get all the parts together. I have an A9L cpu as well as an f150 ECM for a 5.0 with a 4R70W automatic tranny with the mass air meter that came with it. I have been looking at the pinout of the f150 ecm and all I will have to do is move 3 or 4 wires and then just add and make an overlay harness for the injectors and mass air meter and seems to be less invasive as far as the wiring goes. Will the F150 Ecm for the auto tranny give me any issues with the 5spd that i have and I also read somewhere that I will have to wire up a neutral safety switch to keep the ECM from thinking it was in neutral all the time. I am not sure how I could do this shy of wiring in a switch on the dash that I would flip off after starting so I could drive. Or am I barking up the wrong tree and just needing to use the mustang ECM?Decisions Decisions

To add the wires for the MAF and sequential injectors you need to disassemble the EEC connector to add those pins, and while you're in there it's easy enough to move the other wires necessary to utilize the Mustang EEC. That will save you the hastle of trying to make the truck EEC run without the electronic transmission present and also eleminate all the error codes that setup will generate. The Stang computer is also compatable with the aftermarket tuners like the Moates Quarterhorse or Tweecer and that's what you'll need eventually without a doubt once you start building the motor, there's always a new reason to change/add something to get a little more power and the tuner also allows you to use any combination of parts like injectors and MAF meters since you can just go in and change the appropriate table or scalar for them.
Here's a spreadsheet showing the wires/pins that need to be moved(color) and those that need to be added(grey) when using a mustang EEC in a truck.

I WENT TO THE JUNK YARD AND GOT A HARNESS OUT OF A 1995 F150 WITH MAF , AND A PCM AND MAF FROM A 1995 MUSTANG 5 SPEED WIRED IN 1 PIN TO THE PCM FOR THE EXTRA O2 SENSOR AND PLUGGED IT IN AND IT WORKS AWESOME , ALL THE PINS THAT MATTER ARE ALL IN THE SAME LOCATIONS THE PINS THAT WOULD RUN AN ELECTRIC FAN ON THE MUSTANG WOULD BE FOR AN AUTOMATIC TRANNY ON THE F150 AND NIETHER WILL BE USED ANY MORE
