Almost new damper in. (pics)

After a battle removing the fan, I finally won. Trying different things and running out of options, nobody had tools to rent. I used a piece of strap steel, the stuff with holes in it to anchor the water pump pulley and was able to get it loose from under with a pipe wrench. Don't know if it was ever done this way but here's a couple pics. Anyhow the fan is staying off for the time being. Also got the new lpop in as well.
Thank you Mueckster for the damper, the slight vibration I had between 30-40 mph is gone.

Good job! Glad to hear the damper did the trick. And, you're quite welcome.

Very good idea. I normally rent the tool but good to keep in the back of the mind for emergency.

I guess running without the fan and shroud would be a good thing if the weather is cooler and you aren't pulling. I hadn't thought about that.

Following what you and Roland have been doing, I am considering a Melling LPOP and new damper. I am doing my T-500 install now and don't want to combine too many things at once.

Leaving the fan off will save me time and shouldn't hurt anything.

I was just thinking out loud. I am finishing up my T-500 install and pulled my fan and shroud. I want to get it running and the HPOP install finished and not do the damper M208 install at the same time.

I could not put the fan and shroud on for a week or two and save some time.
