460's and COLD weather

so my 96 F350 with 460 juust never seems to warm up in the cold. my heater is putting out heat but the gauge hardly moves above the C. Yes, it is Alaska and yes its like between 5 above to -30 below Zero these days. Im guessing its the HD radiator thats keeping her cool. This summer it even ran a little cooler than my half ton with the 4.9. oNly time temp ever comes up to normal is when Im towing, but I guess thats why its a 460 1 Ton, its designed to pull and not overheat right?.

Change the thermostat. It should get to the bottom of the normal range regardless of how cold it is... My 460 did the same thing, and the thermostat was bad...

My 96 F350 factory temp gauge never read above the 'N' in normal. I checked the intake manifold with a temp gun and read 185. Installed a 3 gauge A Pillar pod with 3 Autometer gauges. Autometer temp gauge reads 185-190, summer or winter. Good aftermarket gauge set is cheap insurance.
