400 Into my '68 F-100

I am putting a 400 and auto into my '68. It used to have a 300/6(which went into my '65) and I am having a hard time finding the engine towers(frame to motor mount). I was wondering if they are the same as the towers from any other V8 so I can widen my search a bit. Any tips or suggestions on this swap would be great. Thanks.

I think the 302/351Windsor , towers will work that is if the truck is a 2wheel drive.

To make your life easyer I would bolt the towers on to the 400's motor mounts and basically place the 400 in the engine compartment to see if all of the bolt holes line up correctly .
I think it would make life alot easier.

The 351/400M have unique motor mounts to themselves. the attact to the frame brackets with a single horizontal bolt like a chevy mount. I would look for a set of brackets off of a 78/79 truck that they originaly came in. I saw a "hack" 400 swap in the J-yard. They used F.E. brackets, and drilled a hole through the center "rib" on the top of the bracket, and used a bolt to attach it. Although it was only a 3/8 in bolt. Pretty redneck.

Cool 400 Into my '68 F-100

I agree, You can get small block mount supports (289/302/351M/400) from any '67-'79 2wd F100-350 and bolt them right into your truck, you'll need a set of mounts spec'd for a '77-'79 WITH a 351M/400 as well.

I will have to take a look around my local salvage yard to confirm but I really think the 302/351W 2wheel drive perches will work on the 400.
I know on the 73-79 trucks they have different sets of holes drilled in the chassis/engine cradle.
I am not sure about the 67-72 trucks though .
