2004 F350 super duty Lariat diesel 6.0l

Hello, I'm in the process of buying a used 2004 F350 super duty Lariat diesel 6.0l with 95000km on it. The machine is a real gem, it looks like its only a couple years old, the price is $19900 canadian dollars. My question is, is the Power Stroke Diesel 6.0l reliable or is it a lemon. Would you recomend buying it.
Thanks
JP

You would get better advice if you post down in the 6.0 forum, but I think the general consensus will be to look it over really well and get as many service records as possible. Also should have an oasis run on it. Good luck.

Just read through the forums, you will gain a ton of knowledge. I love the 6.0 trucks, but they can be problematic if they have been neglected or abused.

Preventive maintenance is Key. Get a Scan gauge II and hook it up while you test drive. I just got My 06 f-350 Lariat last Tuesday It is a fantastic machine. Just go over it with a Fine tooth comb. Get an OASIS report on it. Good Luck. Happy Shopping

I was in the exact same situation. 2005 F-350 KR 6.0 for $20K with 95,000 miles on it. My first diesel. I had my concerns about the 6.0 as well. I studied these forums for days and I decided to pull the trigger and buy it. After taking care of some maintenance and doing an EGR delete (I would have done studs at this point but money was too tight), coolant filter, and a scanguage the truck runs great. I am very very glad I made the decision I did. The truck is a BEAST! My advice is educate yourself first and make your own decision but I am very glad I made mine.
