NAPA Kool SCA?

Anybody using this stuff as your DCA?

NAPA Kool

Will it work for our PSD's? I drained the coolant and re-filled with regular green Prestone and distilled water. Now I want to add the SCA and be finished for a while with the cooling system, I just don't want to add the wrong stuff...

I figured it's tough to go wrong with anything from NAPA, but I want to get this right before I add it to 4+ gallons of new antifreeze!

Well I guess that pretty well settles it for me. I'm gonna dump in about 2 pints and run it a couple days then test it again. Bought a 4 pint jug for $22 at the local NAPA on the way home tonight.

Single pints bottles were $8 and change but they had the 4 pint jug right next to them for less than the cost of three single pints.... hmmmm, lets see, lol...

Oh oh, my coolant is red!

Got a bottle of Wix test strips to check my coolant. It is red. Not green or orange. Is this bad? It tested good on all three Wix strip parameters. What kind of coolant do I have and should I switch? This is a new-to-me 145,000 mile old PSD.

The new ELC anti-freeze is red. I don't think it's compatible on the 7.3 until the late 99 model year. It eats away at the injector cup sealant and you'll notice fuel in the degas bottle if you let it run long enough.

Hard to tell what the red stuff in there is. Might be a specialty coolant or something like Amsoil (usually red). You call on that, but the price of 4 gallons of antifreeze and a few gallons of distilled water, seems to me to be a lot cheaper than injector cups...
