Reverse Light Switch Location on 1990 F250 5speed Manual

For the ZF tranny it's in about the same location, same side as shown above.
I'm having problems not with the switch itself but with the connector that mates to the switch - it is a poor-quality design at least on my 1990 truck - molded rubber, and the terminals inside appear clean, but do not make reliable contact with the switch any longer. I can usually wiggle the connector to get the lights to work, but of course that is not viable while driving!

To the OP, the switch is up pretty high on the drivers ft of the trans, really hard to see if the wires arent connected to it like mine was. IIRC the wires going to it are red with a blue stripe. The harness comes up to a connector under the master cyl. You can check for voltage and continuity at that connector a lot easier than at the switch itself.

Are we sure about that? My 1990 F250 had an M5R2 in it. Mine was a 5.0 but the bellhousing is the same and i've never heard any conclusive info on what the cutoff was for the M5R2 other than it never came in an F250 which is wrong. I had to replace the reverse switch on mine as well.
