before 'n after f-250 rear lift blocks

finally got around to replacing the 2" with 4" ready-lift tapered blocks in the rear. Sits like it should now and timbrens 1" from block ears. I'm happy with it and NO vibration at any speed,,,tapered blocks adjusted angle perfectly.

Looks sharp!! Have you tried pullin it in your garage yet??? Just curious on the height issue. I basicly have the same truck with the exception of the 6.2 motor and grey color, and i would like to do this same thing but im gettin a little close on height as it is. Im thinkin of using some oem F350 blocks, along with the timbrens like you have. The '11 rear ends squat way too easy!!

its close but it does just barely fit! Probably about 1 inch or so to spare. I have a '54 chevy project in there plus my wife parks on the other side so the SD will likely be outside most of the time anyway...

How much of rake do you have on it now? Is your front still the stock height?? Im glad to hear you have no vibration cause that was one of my concerns.

I wish I could do the 4" blocks.
As it sits with the cap (upward flair at rear), I just barely squeeze into some parking garages, most I can't get into anyway.
Just food for thought if you have to use garages....

I'm not sure of the exact rake but it would be similar to an f-350 (they have 4" blocks stock). Front end is stock height. Those blocks are tapered because I have the short wheelbase (142"). The flat blocks are for the longer trucks w/crew cab and/or long bed I was told. Readylift folks are great to talk to on the phone too...very accommodating.

I have thought about doing what you did I understand the rear blocks, but please explain the timbrens 1" from block ears. That changes how it sits and would sit more level with more weight. So what would be difference if installed airbags that would prevent sag with weight, but guess if had rear higher with air in bags would be stiffer ride. Just looking for everyones 2 cents.

It prettymuch comes down to personal preferance. I happen to like loosenut's setup because once its installed, you're done....no air lines to run, no compressor to mount, no wiring, no bags to adjust everytime. Now im not saying airbags are bad at all, But it just seems like alot more stuff to go wrong with an airbag setup. Not much to go wrong with steel spacer blocks, and a solid piece of rubber(timberens). thats my .02

I did a little experiment and mounted the timbrens without the lift blocks and they were in constant contact with the original 2" block bump stop landing (I called them block ears for lack of a better descriptive word). The ride was tolerable but a little "rubber bouncy". After I installed the 4" timbrens, the gap between the timbrens and the bump stop landing on the new blocks was about an inch making the unloaded driving condition just like stock.

I too thought about airbags which are great for load leveling on the fly and fully adjustable but costly for what I wanted to spend. Timbrens were literally a 20 minute installation and the blocks were about 45 minutes. Very little can go wrong with this setup, its cheap and easy...that's what sold me on it.

I agree, that is a clean looking truck. I love the XCab SB trucks, my kids just don't fit in them anymore!
