4r100 trans sloppy 1st to 2nd shift solenoid pack?

My 1998 expedition 4x4 5.4 has a long sloppy shift from first to second. All other gears shift nicely. I have added a hypertech tune which improved the shift firmness in all other gears but 1st to 2nd.... Any ideas

Not the solenoid pack, my suggestion is to change the accumulator springs that are in the front section of the valve body, the springs can be found in a shift kit along with instructions.

Is there a possibility that it might be missing second gear altogether? Its a common failure with that trans.

As far as i can tell it is not missing secod gear. I did some research and i find alot of people using/recommending the factory tech valve body. What is your opinon on that option. Thanks for the help!

I don't have any experience with replacement accumulator body's, I have always installed the kit myself.

I would think that if they just do the basic upgrades with the springs and 1-2 accumulator valve installed it will work fine for you.

I think another company I have heard of on this site that has these accumulator body's is BTS.
