Excursion virgin, wheel spacer and thickness question?
I was undecided about adding lift kit of bigger wheels to my 2000 excursion 2wd...
After staring at it for a while today i realized that i like the stock high and i like my tires. I just want the tires to stick out a bit to give it a low beefy look. I did a lil research and found out about wheel spacers. I don't think a 2'' inch spacer would do enough justice to my liking so the questions are:
1-What's the thickest wheel spacer i can go with on a 2wd 2k ex?
2-How will it effect the mpg and handling?
3-What material is recommended (aluminum?)
4-can i buy them used?
4-Are they safe?
From the picture below, What would you guys recommend?

No. If those are stock 16"ers you can go 305/70 or even 75's. On the spacer thing you really should not go more than 1/4". Anything bigger you'll have to do adaptors. Most tire places won't put them on because of safety/liability issues. I'm picking some 305/70/17's dura grapplers on xd spys next week. I'll send some pics.
Good luck w/ur new bro. The kick *** things you can do are endless.
