Brake Controller
The reason I asked was because when I bought the truck, the dealer delivered it with a brake chingus that plugs in on the fusebox on the side wall under the dash on the passenger side, but this device is not a brake controller. It is, however, required, if you want to install a brake controller to the wires under the dash on the driver's side. It also came with a device that plugs into a mating plug under the dash on the driver's side. This device has wires labeled for a brake controller.
If the fusebox module makes no difference when no brake controller is installed, why wasn't this just installed at the factory instead of being delivered in an envelope for end-user installation?

I can't really answer your question on that. I had nothing that I had to plug into the fuse box. The brake controller had the option to buy a pre-wired wiring harness that would connect the controller to the pre-wired plug, so that is what I did. That way there was no wiring or anything on my part, just mount the controller, plug in the adapter to the controller and plug in the adapter to the plug on the truck under the driver's dash. Then poke the wires out of sight. Couldn't have been simpler. Mine has a factory tow package though, maybe if your truck didnt have a factory tow then something has to be plugged into the fuse box. Other's might know better, but I sure don't.
