Best Recomended Winter tire setup
#16
Don't overlook PSD vs. V8 vs. V10. One might get away with a load range D on the nose of a gas V8-powered rig, but that aint happenin' on a 7.3L.
I don't know what everybody's GVWR is, but mine exceeds 10K pounds. That 80 PSI on the load range E tire gives me 17 MPG on my last fillup in winter driving. When I first got the truck, they underinflated my tires and they were bagging. I brought them up from 50 PSI to 80 PSI and I gained 2 MPG in fuel economy- so how much money does one save on the cheaper tires?

I know they're listed as an all-terrain and not a winter tire, but I've been running my Revo-2's in full-on ice and snow winter conditions for a few weeks now and have been quite impressed with the traction so far. So impressed that I've ordered a set for my wife's Liberty, and I'm getting ready to sell the studded Coopers I have mounted on an extra set of rims for the Super Duty. Might be worth a look. Tirerack has them listed in 285/70-17, load range E, if that's what you want.
