squeaky belt

i know it sounds a little stupid but i cant get this thing to stop squeaking. i have replaced the tensioner and belt. it was fine for a little bit but it started squeaking again! my uncle told me to take some sandpaper to the bottom while it was running and that didnt work and then he said to spray a tiny bit of wd 40 while its running to see if it would take some rust of the pulleys. idk what else to do, it doesnt stop. help me

SANDPAPER!!!!! that sounds like a terrible idea. Maybe I'm too young to know that "trick"

Hit it with some WD40, it'll stop squeaking (watch out it'll fly everywhere). You can also get some fancy "belt-dressing" at a parts store too.

Might look into see what exactly is squeaking, just know the WD40 is usually just a band-aid fix.

The gatorback belts are nice, I have one. Supposedly less resistant to cracking and stretching.

I had to sand the water pump pulley and I used a GY Gatorback and later a Gates belt as replacements. The cheapo belts do tend to make noise but I never had one fail. The tensioner and clutch fan are other sources of noise.
