Looks like a plastic tab has broken off causing the fold up cup holder for second row seats to not stay closed (the one in center console at bottom facing rear). It will close but will always pop open because some plastic part broke that helps keep it snapped closed. Anyone had this problem and how to fix. Or will I just have to find another folding cup holder and replace the entire piece.

 

I think finding a replacement is the best solution. For some reason Ford seems to have a lot of issues with their cup holders.

 

When I first bought my 2000 expedition the rear cup holder was in pieces. I took it out & spent about an hour putting it all back together. It still works to this day.

Could you glue or epoxy a little piece of plastic to where the catch has broke off at? Might help save you from having to buy a new one.

 

Any way to use a strip of Velcro to hold it closed?

 

That could be a good idea. I will look to see if there is any place that I will be able attach both side of the velcro to. I believe I got some laying around.
