I've only read to the 15th page, I don't think much of the orignal truck is left

Red, It was a 351w truck... There are more things than just the spring pack that make it what it is... Only thing that classify's it as an HD truck is the D50 that it came with.

Bottom line, the truck is a Mutt at best... Even with a Load leveler, it felt pretty mushy towing the trailer, my goal with the bags was to be able to delete the load leveler, if I have to run the load leveler and the bags to get a nice ride while towing, I will.

Im not the pickiest guy when it comes to ride quality though... so be it.

I'm sorry if it sounded like I was bashing your truck you should make it fit you needs and tase, if you don't there is no point in doing it
I only work on farm and ranch trucks, hitches and springs are just something I notice. I've had 02-f350, 99-f350 ,97-HD,f250; 93-f250, 94-f250 rear springs in the shop at one time. the changes they made over the years are intersting For example between 93 and late 94 that made the leaves a little thicker you.
Honestly how much of the 351w truck is left, the frame and most of the cab, It's a RacinNdrummin truck now made out of mostly Ford parts

Not at all... If anybody is going to bash my truck, its going to be me...

As far as the original parts left... That's pretty much the frame, bed, bumpers, rear leafs and trailer hitch, thats it. The cab was from the diesel truck, the interior was all JY (except for the stuff I had redone), IDI/ZF were from a 94, D60 from a 97, recent sterling from an 89 (that came with my D60), T-case from Dirtydiesel...Its definitely a Mutt... I can safely say that I have had every nut and bolt loose on this truck now...

Got a question, I may be a little off topic. But I've been reading your thread, you've done a really good job so far. Question is, where did you mount or intend to mount your oil return from your turbo. I'm building one my self, and seem to be stumped on that issue so far.

If you are talking about where I had my turbo mounted, I just ran the return right into the fuel pump hole (I have always run an E-pump)....Works great.

I run an e- pump too, 91dirtydiesel recommended me doing the same. But exactly how did you do it, did you weld a bung on the block off plate or what?

what did you do for a mount? just a couple of plates of steel?

i was thinking about casting one of aluminum, but i really don't want it to brake with that much weight on it.

when you run an electric lift pump you put a big block chevy gasser block off plate over the hole int he block. just drill a hole in the block off plate and then weld in a bung of some sort so you can connect your oil drain line to it.
