You really dont want to know, just a giant cat fight / pissin match between the psd guys and anyone who says anything good about an IDI. All i can figure is its like Justins said over there, apparently theyre threatened the IDI will steal what little thunder they have.

this is really nice.you should be very proud.
i like it all,but the hydroboost deserves a little mention. what an upgrade to these old gals.it's like going from 1% to 100% stopping power lol! well, that's a little drastic, but it sure feels like it.
i really like how you fitted up the newer super cab side windows too.nice job there.
of course a little extra hp on tap doesn't hurt either.
so now the question is,which color(s) will she end up with in the end?

RacinNdrummin is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Alright, here is an update...

So since the last time Ive updated everything, Ive basically got it roadworthy, licensed, and insured, and Ive been driving it for about two weeks... Before That, I battled a bad rear main (Thats what happens when I decide to leave a completely leak free bottom end alone and install it in my truck... Strategy didnt work...) that was compounded in the fact that I decided to ditch the CDR setup and go to an unsuccessful EVAC system, witch eventually led me back to an intake evac'd breather setup, that seems to be doing at least a half-assed job. I had dropped the tranny to find that the stock rear main that I had bought was not correct and that the previous owner had installed a speedi-sleeve... I noticed the seal was installed crooked, so I straightened it out and reinstalled the transmission, thinking that would do the trick, that seal looked like brand new... Well it made the leak a whole lot smaller, now it drips just a tad... But im not going to drop the trans and install a new seal until I get a new clutch, Ill Just have to deal with it... So with that being said, the only issues Ive had is with the return lines leaking and that sort of little crap, otherwise its been trouble free. I did pull my autolites that the previous owner installed, and put in Beru's...

Here is a few pics of the setup after I got it done, after some driving around and looking at my truck, im not too sure I like the exhaust routing, so I plan to change that sometime soon and run it inside the frame rail.

Not long after all that, I put my truck on the dyno, and it put down 235whp and 477wtq on a mustang dyno, which tend to read about 10'ish percent lower than a Dynojet. That means I should be around 250+whp and 500+wtq on a DJ, which equates to over 300/600 at the flywheel, not bad for an IDI. That was after a lot of messing around. I actually gained about 20whp and 20wtq by retarding the IP timing to 6* BTDC, and another 10whp by dropping the fuel pressure to 6psi. This shows that my setup is burning the fuel pretty damn well. But unfortunately, the Turbo Cal is just out of fuel by that point. The plan is to toss a bigger pump on in the future, and when that happens, I think Ill see huge gains, we shall see.

Here is My dyno graph, and the truck feels exactly what it looks like. The comparison was from my first dyno pull, and my last dyno pull... Thats the improvement dyno tuning can do, even to an IDI.

Here is a pic of my truck on the Dyno..

So after all that... I decided it was time to get my truck painted. My wife was tired of me driving around "Looking like a mexican" (No offense implied, just quoting her) so she allowed me to drop some cash on a paint job to make the truck look a whole lot better. I wanted to do the paint job myself, considering the whole DIY aspect of the truck, but the fact is, I just dont have the space to do it, so it had to go to a shop. This is what it looked like the day I drove it down there:

I stripped all the molding, emblems, and decals off to save some time for the shop, not to mention the fact that I like a simple paint job, and none of it will go back on, except for maybe some later model badges on the front fender and a Ford emblem on the tailgate. The color Im having it painted is called gunmetal pearl, and is a darker gunmetal with some metal flake in it... I think its going to look great, especially after the D60, 35's and a 4 or 6 inch lift.

Anyway, thats it for now, Ill update after my truck gets back, which should be a about wednesday or so...
