If I wanted to run a higher weight I would have to make a revision on the truck title and pay more money each year for the increased weight rating. This also works both ways such as you have a standard cab F250 gasser that has a curb weight of around 6,000 lb and haul very little inside the box. Instead of paying for the 9,000 rated tag, you retitle it for 7,000 like the F150's and save about $60 a year. A guy I know has a 2002 Dodge 2500 5.9 standard cab and uses the 7,000 tag. In my case with a 9,000 tag I am very limited to what I can put in the bed, my F250 CC 172" wb ways 8,000+

That way here as well. Didn't used to be enforced all that much, but they started to enforce it more and more these last 2 or 3 years.

I think the BC scale may be off a little bit, putting you over. My truck is a crew cab long bed 4x4 and it weighs in at 7800 on the local county government scale. Your truck should not way the same as mine.

So you hate Ford because your experience would have been completely different had you purchased a Chevrolet, GMC or Dodge!

The basis for your complaint, along with the title of this thread, makes no sense whatsoever. Perhaps you should be complaining about the government not forcing every manufacturer to provide the empty weight for every truck next to the GVWR right on the door jamb. As it stands now, you're still not making sense.

And, I'll bet there's a truck scale closer than three hours from your Ford dealer.

LMAO Sir, YOU ARENT GETTING AT ALL WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT!!!!! I am a Ford man through and through, LOVE FORDS AND ALWAYS WILL... Apparently the Title of the thread is working as it is doing its job GETTING ATTENTION TO WHAT THE DISCUSSION IS REALLY ABOUT.....

All this thread was supposed to be for, was to make some sort of, "collection" of similar situations that other fellow FTE Enthusiasts had to endure with their F-250 3/4 ton..... And it has, there are a few GENUINE members replying to this thread that know EXACTLY what this thread is for...... Whats your excuse???

OH...
FYI, when I PURCHASED THE TRUCK in small town SK, the Saskatchewan scales at the AB-SK border were closed for construction...

My 6.0 supercab shortbox 4x4 weights 7,020 with full tank and me (200) sitting in it. Pa. certified scales. Why is yours so heavy?

Here's my situation.

I know how much my truck weighs empty. I don't overload it. If I needed more capacity, I would have purchased an F350.

Anyway you explain it, you bought a truck without knowing its load capacity and are hoping to find others as clueless as you responding to this thread.

Please show me a Ram, Chevrolet or GMC 3/4 or one ton pick up door sticker with the actual empty weight of the individual truck on it.

All the lit that I have found also makes at least one assumption and that is the weight of the driver. Which they assume is 150lbs. Now I don't know about y'all, but I will never be that weight unless I'm not eating right (absorbing food correctly that is, I have never really eaten right as in what I choose).

It really sounds like not a whole lot of research was done. The OP might not like that answer, but that's exactly what it really reads like. I'm not going to buy a 150 to pull my horse trailer unless I make certain that it's going to be able to safely and legally tow that trailer.

Next truck you buy, you simply tell the salesman (and write it on your sales slip) that a condition of the buy is that they supply you with the rolling road weight of the vehicle. All you have to do then is look at the door sticker for the GVWR, add your weight and your load weight. If the numbers don't come up to your desires, buy a bigger truck with higher GVWR.

Yes the "EMPTY WEIGHT" is not shown, BUT, if Ford went as far as doing the "Max weight of occupants and cargo" label on their vehicles, it would have saved a lot of headache..... They State the combined Weight of truck and people and cargo as a COMBINED weight.... I can do the math subtracting the max weight of occupants and cargo from my GVWR # and use the answer as weight of truck.....

It still boils down to you not knowing the capacity of your truck when you bought it.

By the way, what year/model truck belongs to that label?
