53 F100- first drive

Well, the wife's G6 blew a power steering hose necessitating that my truck give up its squatter's rights to the lift where it's been squatting for the past 2 years. So hesitantly, I dove the truck out of the garage. the power steering worked great; the power brakes didn't( I need to bleed them again, but they were mediocre at best). I got on the gas once and although it accelerated, I think my 4 cylinder Equinox would easily outrun it. Finally, the front suspension was downright squirrely. I'm sure it's way out of alignment, but wow! Here are some recent pictures. Feel free to comment on anything.

Thanks! That walnut came from a storm-downed walnut tree from my "uncle's" farm in Illinois. I'm planning on using more in the door handle section of my doors.

Tom that's an amazing truck! Great work!
Walnut trees are all over around me! I like to gather a small amount of the walnuts in the fall and add them to brownies. My mom use to make them like that. That's not about money but....umm those brownie are good!
Sweet truck Tom!

Hi Tom, forgive me if I asked you this already, but is your upper intake polished? powercoated? painted? I like it, and want to see mine similar. Just not sure what you got there.

I was surprised to see this thread back in the forum. Jeff, how's the motor/truck coing along? I actually took a lot of time and sanded all of the rough casting down to a fine sand-paper level. I have an old oven in my garage and powder coating equipment, so I powder coated it in clear (using Summit's powder coat). Unfortunately (as you can see in some pictures, the powder coating has cracked (I don't have a clue why, but it did it before the engine was even fired). So, maybe it was my technique(never had it happen before or after and it didn't happen until about 6 months later), or the powder coating quality. I guess the long answer is to use maybe a urethane car clear-coating on it( I wish I had, but that will have to wait until I pull the intake and rocker covers some day (year). There's a mounting tab on the top of the intake(driver's side) that you can cut/grind off before coating the intake.
