These pictures were taken after 100+ flushes and head stud, coolant and egr cooler replacement. At which time my ect/eot were only 3-5* then started creeping up to 10-15*. so decided to do a backflush of entire system. This is the initial drain of coolant[/IMG][/IMG]This is back flushing the oil cooler[/IMG]These are pics of coolant filter and the debris that came out of it. Yep I wanted to make sure I got it as clean as I could but as you can see I am still getting s#@t out of it. If I had it to do over I don't think I would do the chemical flushes I would just flush with distilled water only. The only thing that made it easier was installing fumoto valves for the block drain plugs. I will continue to flush every 1k or so until I have clean coolant come out.

Here is a link to nylyons' "reverse flushing" technique. http://home.comcast.net/~lyon.family...ush%20v1-0.pdf
I am currently do this as we speak. I would like to get my temps back down to the 3-5 that they were after top end work was done. but I am afraid I will have to install another oil cooler to get that result again.

What type of coolant are you using?

BTW my 05 has only seen distilled water coolant flushs since I only get just a few sand particles out when I first open the radiater drain plug.

look towards the radiator for the source of contamination.try flushing only the radiator in a clean bucket a couple times,i think youll be surprised at what you get out of it.

Brian,
How many miles do you have on your truck? I know Ford recommends doing the initail flush for the P/S's at 105k.
Get's me concerned after only 60k on mine.

I am using Baldwin B5134. I bought a kit from defuser and it came with 3 filters.

Code:

I am using Cat EC-1 coolant.

I had the radiator rodded (it was 30% plugged) last August when I did all the work to this also installed new oil cooler, egr cooler, heater core, water pump, and replaced all hoses. I also did about 100 fluses with restor and restor plus before starting the project and could never get 100% clean water (hose and distilled) out. 90% of the sand I am getting out of this engine is coming out of the block drain plugs.

I bought this truck a year ago with 104k and did this work at 110k and now flushed at 111k.
