F250 vs F350 SHort Bed Size

Is a 2005 F250 short bed size (6 and 3/4 feet) the same as a 2008's F350 short bed size?
I want to by a cap and the owner tells me the 2008 is 6.5 feet which I doubt.
I could not find anything on this site that led me to bed dimensions. Thanks!

Although the specs say 6.5 feet, i seem recall that the dealer said it was actually 6 foot 9 inches. Why not ask him to measure it for you, then compare the results to yours ?

I have the feeling he may not have had a ruler

I don't want to drive 40 miles and find out I was mistaken and it is a different size.

Bed size should be the same. The only thing I recall being a concern on the '08+ models was the different tailgate for the models with the tailgate step.

Same bed length. They are commonly called 6.5', but actually are 6'-9"L. Just like the long bed is commonly called 8', but is really 98"L.
