I think the "bolt-in" ones are 2003-2006.

Well from what I know it's actually 2003-2007. I'm doing this IFS swap in my '58 as we speak. I am putting the finishing touches on the motor so I can get her on the road again. If you want a little know how on how to do this swap look up "buildup, '03 IFS into '58 F100". There are plenty of other great threads on this swap that other guys have done before me also.

Do you know why most sources say 30-07, did something change in 08?

The only vehicle to my knowledge available after '07 is the Crown Vic in fleet category. In other words all from '08-'11 are either police cars or taxis. '07 was also the end of Mercury so the Mercury versions were no longer available. I think the reason people say '03-'07 is because you have a so much larger pool to look in. Come '08 the only way to get the IFS is a Crown Vic police or taxi. Many may not be aware Ford did continue the same platform since there were no consumer level vehicles available. In other words no more Crown Vics on new car dealers lots.

Thanks for clearing that up. The only crown vics I've ever seen in the wrecker are mile'd out taxis and crashed police cruisers. As soon as a cruiser shows up that isnt hit in the front I have dibbs on the front suspension at two wreckers but the cops around here cant drive worth a **** apparently.

If you can get it cheap enough the high mileage taxi units would be worth it. It is the exact same suspension that is used in the police cars. I don't think I would pay more than $100 for a high mileage unit. I would prefer less. More like $50. Then just replace all parts. New ball joints, control arm bushings, outer tie rod ends, shocks. That really isn't that much & you would have a IFS with all new wearing parts short of the rack.
