2009 F250 SuperDuty wrench & engine warning light
My 2009 Ford F250 SuperDuty Crew Cab 5.4l v8 truck is displaying the wrench warning and check engine symbols, 3 times in 2 months. Goes into some safe mode where extremem loss of power occurs and engine runs rough. Each time towed to dealer, codes read by service, 1st trip replaced intake, second trip replaced throttle body and sensor, this trip the mechanic reset the codes and the truck runs fine. Dealer admits there is something wrong with truck but does not know what to fix. Any suggestions? They have a flight recorder hooked to the truck and are driving it trying to get the truck to code out again. Truck has been there for 1 week this trip, 3 weeks secon trip, and 3 days 1st trip. They want to send the truck home with me on Friday with flight recorder attached and no repairs performed.

They told me that they did pin point testing the 1st 2 times the truck was in. To my knowledge they have not this visit. I drove the truck 300 miles from the 2nd to the 3rd visit, less from the 1st to 2nd visit. They have logged 165 miles so far with flight recorder and nothing. They want to give the truck back to me on Friday if no codes by then with no repairs. I am not happy!

This truck has had lack of power issues when towing my 11,000# trailer form day one and has had several repairs including replacing the computer since it was purchased new. I have 20,330 miles + whatever miles the dealer has put on it this past week. It also is having issues with the "Trailer Disconnected" warning being displayed every time I tow with it some time during the trip. The dealer has checked the truck and the rv dealership has checked the trailer, both check ok. I am concerned I have no brakes on the trailer when the "Trailer Disconnected" warning is on the dash. Too much weight behind me not to have a good connection. Guess I will have to go the aftermarket route to be sure I get the braking sytem to work at all times!
