I had a crazy time putting a 76 cab on a 78 chassis. I came up with a couple different diagrams. One like that one, and this one for a 78, it shows a couple extra wires.

looks to be the dual module set up for vacume. I will be all knowed up by time i am done with my night mare. But at least i ll have been there done that.I know what you mean.In the middle of my 75 cab swap to 77 highboy my 79 ignition started given me fits and kicken my butt,so highboy project got pushed out side for now
On my swap, after I got it wired up it still wouldn't fire. I was going nuts trying to find out why. Then it occurred to me, the neutral safety switches are different. Up to 76 or 77.5 they are on the column, 77.5-79 they are on the trans. On my 76 cab I found the NSS under the dash, the harness connector is the same as a flat 4 Trailor plug in. So I found a spare Trailor plug, plugged it in and spliced wires till my ignition got voltage. Now I have it taped up, and use it as an antitheft devise. I just pull the plug and it won't start.
