A very dangerous looking Widow Maker

First of all, ALL widow makers are potentially lethal wheels. No doubt about it. And I am definitely no tire/wheel expert. But ever since I traded for my F5, I quickly noticed that my left front was a potential bomb, even more so than usual. Thanks to the generosity of harleymsn, I was able to get this rusty grenade off my truck today. I'll be honest, it made me nervous to just remove it. It somehow miraculously was still holding some air despite the fact that the valve stem is nowhere to be found, which is probably a blessing that somebody didn't try to air it back up. The inside ring is absolutely obliterated with rust. Amazingly, all of the other wheels are intact. Just thought you guys might want to see this.

Holy cow!!!

I'm glad that you are getting rid of those wheels. Like you said, its a good thing there wasn't a valve stem to be found or someone would have tried to air that bomb up

WOW! Thanks for posting that picture. and thats just one that is obviously thin, what about the ones that are paper thin and still "look ok" but still in one piece- that is until someone airs it up

Be safe out there yall!

That one would not last long even as a fire ring.

She's a beauty! Quite a few years of water retention happening there. It doesn't even look like the tire/wheel was down in the mud from the look of it. Time for that one to go to China. Stu

I think I'd have shot it to let the air out (and put it out of its misery!)

LOL. I SERIOUSLY contemplated that today. And honestly I may very well do that so that it can't hurt anybody. I didn't even feel very comfortable rolling the thing to the area behind my barn. On the day the guy delivered that truck to me, he said "That one tire there is a little low. I would have aired it up for you, but the valve stem is messed up." I'm glad he didn't.

Oh come on, just a little JB weld and a log chain around it and it's ready to reinflate. Don't be such a wuss.

Lol. You would be shocked at how many people who live nearby here who would try that very thing.

Red Green could fix it with a roll of duct tape.

I've got 6 of them on my truck that look pretty good, and the outside right rear tire is flat. That's how it made it home, and it's going to stay that way...
