Setting the clock

Is there a trick to setting the clock? I have pressed "clock" button with both ignition on and off, held it for a few seconds, nothing happens. The clock is displayed OK. 2008 Escape

On a '09, you press Clock and then punch the numbers you want.

I think the last step on the '11 is to press "OK".

Most people would look in the owner's manual for this type of thing...

As I said,I could see no mention of having the radio turned on in the manual.I stand to be corrected.

You seem to misunderstand, the clock in my 2008 is visible, even though the radio is off.I have owned many vehicles and have never before had to turn a radio on to change the time on the clock.

Correct, on my '97 Ranger, the Scan/Seek buttons were used to change the time. If the radio was ON, you'd be changing stations, etc. instead of the time.

I just changed my '09's clock a week ago as we fell back one hour here and frankly I don't even remember if it was ON or OFF for sure. I "do" know that pressing the clock button brings up "enter time' on the screen.
