88 f250 not starting

My 88 f250 is not starting. It is not getting a spark. What could be the problem. I already replaced the coil, plugs, and wires. If it helps at all it shut off like it ran out of gas and i havent been able to start it since. It is not a fuel issue.

"shut off like it ran out of gas"
Do you mean it wasn't responsive to throttle and sputtered to a stop?
Or it just shut off.

There is a ignition modulator on the side of the distributor. These are notorious for going bad and if they finally go out while the engine is running it will be like you cut the key off. Also when it goes bad you won't have any spark. There about $30, and you need a super thin wall socket, or ground a normal socket down to unbolt the modulator. I think the bolt size is a 5/16, but I can't really remember.

Since you replaced the coil, wires and plugs, you should probably get the button and cap along with the modulator.

In later models starting in 1991 models, Ford moved the Ignition Modulator on the firewall drivers side, to get it away from the engine heat.

That's why I asked if it sputtered to a stop.
The distributor mounted TFI modules are notorious for this.

Have a look at this thread; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...-that-bad.html

Here's a diagnostic; Ford Ranger/Bronco II TFI Ignition Diagnostics

Let's go back one more step in the troubleshooting process......pull off the distributor cap, crank the engine over...does the rotor turn? If not, you have a broken timing chain.

If it does turn, then proceed with the links Jim provided.
