does anyone know what kind of compression tester i should get?

i have a 95 ford 350 7.3 turbo i cant find a compression tester for it anywhere i seen alot of em on ebay but idk which one i should get? can anybody tell me which one to get? or show me? thanks guy i apreciate any help i really need to get my truck running again

Any diesel compression tester that goes up to at least 400psi should work. You'll also need an adapter that threads into the glow plug hole in the head. I cut apart a glow plug and welded that onto a grease gun hose instead of buying one.

thats a good idea you had there but sadly i dont have a welder i know how to weld but i just dont have one anyways thats actually what i need to know i should of been more specific i need to know where to get an adapter for the glowplug hole any ideas?

Mityvac is one I have heard of, probably others if you do some digging.

One of the members in the SD forum took an old glowplug and turned it into an adapter by drilling through the center of the plug and tapping the hole for a 1/8th inch pipe thread.

Has anybody used this one, does it work for our trucks and will it work with a Harbor freight gauge?

i was on the snap on website and saw the adapter for 20 something dollars.

I just looked and all I could find was the one for 6.9L engines...

I was hoping to find something I won't have to go spend half a day tracking down the parts for. I don't have a parker store like mentioned in the link so I have to find similar products and hope it works... I was hoping I could find a simple click here and purchase this adapter...

I thought it asid is was godo for 6.9 and 7.3 engines. I'll double check cuz I was thinking of getting one myself.

Well it says it's good for both engines, even Gm engines. I'll have to ask the snap on guy this week. Heres the link on he snap on website. M3545B, Adaptor, Glow Plug Compression (for 6.9L diesel engines)
