how to remove the 'change oil soon' message

I am on top of my oil changes, but this is the first time I have seen the center display flash "change oil soon" and stay on until you hit the OK button. I went through the manual and I cannot find where there is a provision to clear the message. The oil was just changed, has maybe 600 miles on it.

I haven't gotten the new enhancement license for my 2010 yet for AutoEnginuity, however, I do know on the Lexus vehicles that my parents I have, I can program it not to show that message and/or have the light come on.

I didn't keep it off entirely for the one that my dad drives as he won't get it serviced in time if he doesn't have an annoying reminder like that always on telling him to get it taken care of, but it will keep it off on the Lexus.

Although, bare in mind that is with the Lexus, I have not been able to try that with my 2010 Ford, so there may not be the same functionality between the two.

You have the LCD screen correct? If you do go to oil life and reset to %100.

Adamsre is correct

go to settings
scroll down to vehicle
scroll to oil life reset
note you can set oil life to a number of diferent percentages

I did my first oil change at 1400 miles, set oil life to 50%
I plan to change oil every 3300 miles

I never reset my oil life when I changed it at 3,750 miles. At 8,100 now and the truck hasn't complained yet.

That won't disable it if I remember correctly. That'll just give you a respite until it hits it's min. % threshold again.

He did not ask to disable it, just reset/clear the message. This is the step taken everytime you change the oil. It's all in the little thing called the owner's manual.

I guess I was a little confused with the term "remove" in the title as that could have gone either way as far as to disable or to reset/clear. Although he did use the term clear in the body, I guess I was just hung up on the remove portion.

Plus I was also hung up with disabling things after just discovering my 150 picked up text messaging on my new phone.

I was told by the service that you can reset the milage to what you want it for, if you change every 5000 miles you can set for that.
